Access to Licensed Services
Many of the library's online resources require authentication for off-campus access (and a few require it for on-campus access, too). These resources include:
- Web-accessible articles your instructor has placed on Course Reserve
- UNR Libraries' licensed online journals & articles, databases, and e-books
- Journal articles that are linked from your WebCampus courses
How do I log in?
All you need to do is find the library resources you need and click on the links to get to them. When you reach a point where authentication and logging in is required, the library's software will prompt you to log in.
You will be prompted to log in with your NetID when you click on a link that requires authentication. (This link can be from a database, from OneSearch, or external sources such as Google Scholar.) You will see one of the two screens below; with either one, all you need to do is enter your NetID and password. You will then be passed through to the resource you wanted. You will usually have to log in only once per web session.

Not sure what your NetID is?
UNR users must activate their NetID once. You do not need to activate it again for off-campus access. Visit the UNR NetID help page to activate your NetID, change your password, or get help. The Computing Help Desk can be reached at (775) 682-5000.
There is some content in OneSearch that, for off-campus users, will only appear if you are logged in. Web of Science and its citation counts is one example of this. See this OneSearch FAQ for more details.
The following databases and online content providers will always require you to log in with your NetID, even on-campus:
- Ebook Library (EBL)
- Web of Science
